What areas do you serve?

Fresh Coast Inspections proudly serves West Michigan, including Muskegon, Ottawa, Kent, and Allegan counties — and surrounding lakeshore communities.

What’s included in a regular home inspection?

Every full inspection covers the home’s structure, roof, foundation, exterior, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, attic, insulation and interior systems. You’ll receive a clear, photo-rich digital report that highlights both immediate concerns and future maintenance items.

How long does a typical inspection take?

Most inspections take 2-3 hours, depending on the size, age, and condition of the home. Larger or older homes may take longer to ensure every system is properly reviewed.

How soon will I get my report?

Reports are usually delivered within 48 hours of the inspection — often the same day. You’ll receive a secure digital copy by email, viewable from any device.

Should I be present during the inspection?

It’s not required, but we highly recommend attending for at least the final walkthrough. It’s a great opportunity to ask questions and see your home through a professional’s eyes.

Do you inspect new construction homes?

Absolutely. Fresh Coast offers pre-drywall and final new construction inspections to ensure your investment meets standards before closing — even new homes can have hidden issues.

Do you offer environmental or specialty testing?

Yes. We provide asbestos, lead, and moisture testing, as well as thermal imaging and combustible gas leak detection for added peace of mind. (Lab fees apply for sample-based testing.)

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept credit/debit cards, checks, and ACH payments. A $50 non-refundable deposit is due at booking, with the remaining balance payable at inspection.

Are you licensed and certified?

Michigan currently does not require licensing for private home inspectors, but Fresh Coast Inspections maintains InterNACHI Certified Professional Inspector status and membership with ASHI. We also carry full Errors & Omissions (E&O) and General Liability Insurance.

What makes Fresh Coast different?

Experience and empathy. Our background spans construction estimating, municipal building inspection, and fine-home craftmanship — meaning we know homes from the inside out. We blend professional standards with small-town integrity so you can make confident, informed decisions.
